Turning Point designs presents her Dentalium Blue necklace.

Dentalium shells are harvested on the north west coast. There are over 30 different type of shells that you can harvest those from. The long, white hollow shells are the most harvested. Some are used for capes of the women that hang over the shoulder. They are also use the necklaces and earrings as well.  The shell is becoming more rare to get as the shells are becoming harder to find. 

This necklace is 32 inches long and is separated by blue glassbeads and some white ones at the top of necklace. This was made with the length in mind for the powwow dancer as dancers use these to bring them closer to the water. These are water beads and are also honored by water bearers. 

Turning point designs is beadwork created by Tamaya Chrisjohn   This is a collection of necklaces and bracelets designed by a young artist at the age of twelve. This is her way of expressing herself thru her beadwork. She wishes to bring happiness and joyfulness by the designs of her beads.  Sometimes she also gets to express her self through charms, such as the heart, the butterfly, and other designs to make bring beauty to her beadwork.
